across the stream
the green glows
always somehow brighter
off in the distance
where i never go
yet often happily dream

the cathedral is greedy
believing its right
gathering all the light
to illuminate itself
casting shadow all around
except its bright peaks

and there is nothing left
even at the house, no
potential for me to gather
light on crystal wafers
just to help us all
keep the burning gas below
