in the softer green
where light cascades
on a subtle surface
unriddled by dominance
nor panic of propagation
   a natural love
allowed to coexist
even to mutual Good
benefits participants
   willing to forego
the crushing of another
   life
for a singular benefit

nature doesn't love you
nature is colder and
crueler than any logic
while all the while
equally beneficent
causing you to be
and thrive or die
so another might live
or just because
  it happens
as a perfect result
of determinism
by chance

and you can love it if you like
but nature will never love you

because we are one and the same
wild bush that happened to grow
and strangle what we needed to be

the springy neighbor
   dog learned
   something new
she was cautious
   less interested
in our environment
but only in each other

obviously profound
   we will see
what permanent scar
may weigh her down
to forget to play
