there is no need
to concern yourself
how to love me
or even if you do

all you are
is a reflection
of what may be
in everyone

the Whole who gives
you meaning, hope
for one another
in reflection

if you must learn
the heart you seek

drawing a line between
a longing and knowing
   what is missing
hands a man a collar

when you are willing
to surrender choice
you always remember
why obedience is
not absolution
nor ever love

in your Only One Way:
   My Way
(or the high way)
lawyers have the answers
never the Heart of god
only those who claim
I Know the Mind (Word)
Meaning God Meant
it its judicial armory
rallying the flavors
so many humans want to use

how much less, the mystic
turning toward the Heart
   appears to the Rule
   a threat
like a wide swirl
to the deepest centers
renders words meaningless:
whether from a prophet,
general or priest, a king
of the heart we all know
the promise and trials
of our best inside
is the Purpose that never ends

so,
your God killed all
   the other gods 
with His little stick
   jealously requiring
our devotion in law
and flesh and blood
and temples and money
decides which priest
decides which law
   story is right
   transactionally
acquiring the Promise

blood is meaningless
   yet unclean
but you must obey
making blood flow
staying the knife
unless who said
   He said to?

you got a cap
on that skull
  piled up
high with blood
that loves and
  loves and
demands love

there was never a way
to find what you imagine
when you did not understand
what you needed to know

you Believe
or dis- believe
rather your own
excuses in forms
to punish those
unwilling to see
what you do not
wish to believe
and deservedly
