what used to be
nothing but me
has others now
surrounding
and pushing in
  strangers
where i grew up
and still grow
a parked car
broken on the dirt
road where
the kid knocked
on my door
hidden in trees
and i answered
to hear him say
i broke down here
on your road
and i didn't want
you to worry
or be confused
finding my junk
car parked
if it's ok
i'm a neighbor
by the way
living down
across the stream
and it wasn't much
to think yes
  it is ok

today with fire
we left the earth
a journey toward
Fear and Panic
  so close
to the god of war
and his more distant
brother Dread
orbiting slower, further
  on a mission
to vacuum up a taste
and learn why
Fear is crashing
while being unmade
into a thin ring
like a dusty halo
  encircling
the war god
