today i saw a star explode
before we even walked upright
with tiny brains and arms

far out across the black
fabric of the sea
the catastrophic scaled 
unimaginably vast
like Kali dancing
a hot spiral of oblivion
all dead and rearranged
to be flung out particularly
later into all new things

and i can't help it
my particles being tugged
warped in some familiarity
i cannot understand
in the day by day turning
of forces which bind us here
oblivious once again
in cycles we cling within
