i know i never wanted to
separate weeds from plants
the Way gardeners prune
pull and poison what may be
not quite right or even
invasive to the best interest

who am i to know
and certainly to say
pointing, here is this
somehow grown piece of life
and you must see why it must go

or just pull it
without saying
any word

ive never been good enough
to know with certainty
what must be done

and so i suppose i leave
things growing how they might
with only the fewest nudges
to hint nothing was abandoned
